Timbertrail is an add-on to TimberTrack that enables the planning of optimized haul routes for machines in production

Timbertrail reduces the risk of soil damage and increases efficiency in both harvesting and forwarding.

In long-term sustainable forestry, it is important to take care of the soil when the forest is harvested. Machinery must be used in a way that protects the soil from both compaction and more serious soil damage.

With the TimberTrail add-on, users gain access to new features in TimberTrack to handle complex planning of haul roads for both harvesters and forwarders.

 

Works directly in TimberTrack

In TimberTrack Administration , you can set various configurations to adapt the system to different scenarios. There, you can specify, among other things, the sensitivity to slope and water/soil moisture, whether base routes should be created automatically in the area, and how warnings should be displayed.

When you then create a base route in TimberTrack, you select the configuration that is appropriate for the specific logging area. The base route is generated and saved for the logging area, and at the same time, the hauling distance is calculated and recorded.

The line width of the base routes indicates the expected volume of traffic on each section of the base route.

Optimal Base and Outbound Routes

TimberTrack Timbertrail uses digital data to calculate the optimal routes for machines to minimize the risk of soil damage while optimizing harvesting and forwarding operations.
