GPS Timber was originally developed by Cartesia GIS AB (now Icebound AB) but was later jointly owned by Datapolarna AB for many successful years. Due to structural changes at both companies, Icebound has assumed full responsibility for GPS Timber.

Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge

Since Icebound has been continuously working on sales, implementation, and strategic development of the product over the years, this is not a radical change. We are now expanding and establishing the team that will manage and develop the product. Icebound stands ready to help our customers remain competitive—now and in the future. GPS Timber and GPS Timber Pulp are world leaders in logistics and production support for sawmills and pulp mills—from incoming raw materials to the production line. Today, there are just over 40 customers in Sweden and across Europe.

GPS Timber—part of our comprehensive offering for the forestry industry

Today, Icebound can claim to be the leader in Sweden in business solutions and modern web-based products for the forestry industry. Icebound Forest is a product suite that supports many of our customers’ processes. Our commitment to supporting the entire forest management and raw materials/industrial process remains unchanged and is now further emphasized with GPS Timber.

“GPS Timber is a key product for customers who want a sustainable and efficient industrial process at their sawmill or pulp mill. This is our second acquisition since we established Icebound at the start of the year and is in line with our ambition to continue investing in and developing our offering to the forestry and timber industry,” says Staffan Bygden, CEO of Icebound.

Most of our current customers are in regular contact with our team at Icebound. From now on, all communication, questions, and issues regarding GPS Timber should be directed to us. Welcome!
