Boliden Selects Icebound as Its Supplier for GIS and Business Systems

Boliden, a leading player in the mining and metals industry, has selected Icebound as the supplier for a new GIS platform and several business systems. The implementation will begin as early as March 2025.

Boliden is investing in a new geographic IT platform capable of running applications and providing support for various parts of its operations. Boliden sees significant benefits in the comprehensive solution that Icebound delivers through its platform—AddSpatial. Boliden not only gains powerful GIS tools and applications but also access to a wide range of map and property data services through Icebound Maps.

Being a leading metals company with its own mines, smelters, and properties means also managing contracts and leases related to exploration, as well as the purchase and sale of properties, roads, technical infrastructure, and forests. For this reason, the company has chosen not only to use AddSpatial GIS for general map management and analysis but also to incorporate the ForestPlan and TimberTrack products for forestry planning and production. Additionally, it uses Fastighet & Avtal and FastighetDirekt for contract management.

The agreement is for five years, with options for extension. Implementation will begin as early as February, and the first rollout will take place in March 2025. .
