Apcoa Denmark is expanding its operations with a smart parking solution<\/p>\n<\/h1>\n

Apcoa is a leading provider of parking services in Europe. In 2018, the company decided to develop a new business system based on a map. We at Icebound were tasked with designing the solution, which provides user support for large parts of the business. The first version was rolled out as early as 2019 at Apcoa in Denmark. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A tool for documentation and planning<\/h3>\n

Apcoa in Denmark saw opportunities to develop and ensure quality in several areas of its operations. Using the map as a starting point, the company can manage everything from planning and setup to monitoring equipment and parking attendants\u2019 patrol routes. The system continues to be developed to include more aspects of the business. <\/p>\n

Here’s how the tool is used in practice<\/h3>\n

The digital map can be used to plan the design and placement of equipment, signs, and devices. This information is then transmitted as a work order to the contractor, who quality-assures the work using photos and information gathered in the field. At any given time, the parking lot\u2019s layout is accessible, complete with version control and history, which makes it possible to provide evidence in the event of any legal disputes. <\/p>\n

It is also possible to optimize routes for parking attendants and work crews based on the most efficient travel routes. This simplifies resource planning. In the long run, this leads to cost savings as employees\u2019 time is used more efficiently. <\/p>\n

A fully web-based, award-winning solution<\/h3>\n

Users can access the web-based system via a computer, cell phone, or tablet. The system connects to other business systems and data sources and integrates information for various functions and geographic analyses in real time. <\/p>\n

The system has evolved into a central part of the business. At the same time, Apcoa\u2019s subsidiaries and operations in several of the other 14 European countries have recognized its benefits and are interested in implementing the solution in their own markets. <\/p>\n

Robust GIS Platform<\/h3>\n

The system and solution are based on AddSpatial GIS from Icebound, which provides a stable foundation for geographic IT and geographic data management. Using its own AddSpatial platform, Icebound has built and customized work modules for various parts of the business. <\/p>\n
